Historical and Religious Interpretation

Within the Xuan tradition, Jiutian Xuannü is regarded as a primordial creative deity associated with cosmological order, ritual transmission, and the establishment of form and correspondence within existence.

Traditional teachings describe Xuannü as the manifestation of the sacred black bird known as the Xuanniao, through which cosmic order and transformational principles were transmitted to humanity and the spiritual world.

The deity is associated with the organization of celestial structure, ritual correspondence, symbolic form, and the transmission of sacred methods connected to cultivation and human civilization.

The Buxiang Transmission

According to traditional lineage narratives preserved within the Xuanmen Xiangzong tradition, Jiutian Xuannü transmitted the scripture known as the Buxiang Scripture to Rongchengzi around 1800 BCE.
